Founder, Gauge Studio
Max brings architectural engineering expertise and hands-on renovation experience to the homes he helps create. A licensed Professional Engineer, he connects architecture, interiors, and building systems with a practical understanding of how projects are built.
His experience spans projects with construction budgets from $3 million to $120 million and work involving LEED, Passive House, and Living Building Challenge standards. He was recognized in Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s 2019 “40 Under 40.”
A personal approach to renovation.
Max’s interest in residential renovation began with his first fixer-upper in 2012. Since then, he has renovated multiple properties and helped homeowners navigate the decisions that turn an apartment or townhouse into a home.
That experience shapes Gauge Studio’s approach: thoughtful layouts, cohesive interiors, comfortable and efficient building systems, and attention to the realities of budget and construction. Sustainability informs the details—from materials and equipment to the way a home performs every day.
